The 11th Canadian Workshop on Information Theory (CWIT 2009)
The 11th Canadian Workshop on Information Theory (CWIT 2009) will be held at the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) of the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, from Wednesday May 13th through Friday May 15th, 2009. This coincides with the Canadian Tulip Festival, one of the largest in the world. This workshop provides an opportunity for researchers in Information Theory to meet and discuss aspects of their work.
Papers presenting new results in (but not limited to) the following areas are solicited:
· Shannon theory · Cryptology and data security
· Applications of information theory · Information theory and statistics
· Multiuser information theory · Signal processing
· Quantum information processing · Pattern recognition and learning
· Coding theory and practice · Data networks
· Coded modulation · Detection and estimation
· Data compression and source coding · Communication complexity
· Communication systems · Network Information Theory and Coding
Authors wishing to have papers considered for the workshop should electronically submit their (up to) 4-page full papers in PDF format by February 16, 2009 through EDAS ( http://edas.info/index.php ). While no particular format is enforced for the submissions at this point, we suggest using standard IEEE two-column format for your submissions as the camera- ready papers will be accepted only in IEEE standard format. Accepted papers will be published on IEEE Xplore website and in the proceedings of the workshop. Paper acceptance will be announced on March 2, 2009. Authors of papers accepted for the workshop will be requested to submit an (up to) 4-page camera-ready paper no later than March 30, 2009. The workshop starts on May 13, 2009.
