The Department of Mobile Communications at EURECOM, Sophia-Antipolis,
France invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research in the
area of vehicular wireless networking. The candidate must obtain his/her
Ph.D. degree before joining EURECOM, and should have adequate networks
research experience demonstrated through publications in international
conferences and journals. Good verbal and written skills in English are
required.
The candidate is expected to pursue research on the area of cooperative
vehicular communications. The objective is then to investigate research
issues related to the topic of Intelligent Transportation Systems and
more particularly to cooperative communication protocols. Some of the
main target research tasks are: (1) Propose and develop new
methodologies and communication protocols for the integration of V2V and
V2I architectures (2) Design and develop new opportunistic and
cooperative protocols (geocast, congestion control, etc.) for V2V/V2X
communications, and (3) Propose a transport communication protocol for
vehicular traffic management applications. Other research topics could
be investigated depending on the background and interests of the candidate.
The position is available from March/April 2009 for 12 months and
extensible based on the performance of the candidate. Interested
