2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory
Barcelona, Spain. July 10-15, 2016

The 2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory was held in the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona from July 10 through July 15, 2016. M ore than 800 participants attended several technical events in a luminous, open space, merging old and new structures. This event was promoted and supported by the Spain Section Chapter of Information Theory.

 

Technical meetings

4th Spanish Workshop on Signal Processing, Information Theory and Communications
Santander (Spain), July 19, 2016

This workshop featured a morning session with three technical lectures: Javier García-Frías on "Approaching Theoretical Limits with Low-Complexity Analog Joint Source-Channel Coding Schemes;" Geert Leus on Sparse Sensing for Statistical Inference;" and Martin Haardt on "Efficient Two-Way Relaying Techniques for Amplify and Forward Relays with Multiple Antennas and aHybrid Beamforming Concepts for Massive MIMO." In the afternoon session, Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers presented and discussed their work.

3rd Spanish Workshop on Signal Processing, Information Theory and Communications
Seville (Spain), January 29, 2016

This workshop featured a morning session with two technical lectures: Mérouane Debbah on "Latest developments in the field of asymptotics in Information Theory and its application to 5G" and Luiz Da Silva on "Spectrum and Infrastructure Sharing in Wireless Networks." In the afternoon, the workshop featured a poster session .
