The IEEE Information Theory Society invites you to nominate candidates for the Aaron D. Wyner Distinguished Service Award.
The Aaron D. Wyner Distinguished Service Award of the IT Society has been instituted to honor an individual who has shown outstanding leadership in, and provided long-standing, exceptional service to, the Information Theory community. This award was formerly known as the IT Society Distinguished Service Award.
Nominations for the Award can be submitted by anyone and are made by sending a letter of nomination to the President of the IT Society. The individual or individuals making the nomination have the primary responsibility for justifying why the nominee should receive this award. Please send all nominations by March 15, 2010 to IT Society President, Frank Kschischang <[email protected]>.
NOMINATION PROCEDURE
: Letters of nomination should
- Identify the nominee’s areas of leadership and exceptional service, detailing the activities for which the nominee is believed to deserve this award;
- Include the nominee’s current vita;
- Include two letters of endorsement.

- Principal publications (not more than ten).
- Principal honors and awards
- The nominee’s CV may be submitted as an addendum to the nomination.

Rationale:
Discussion of how the nominee has shown outstanding leadership in, and provided long-standing, exceptional service to, the Information Theory community (not more than two pages).
Note : Current officers and members of the IT Society Board of Governors are ineligible.
