Meir Feder, a chaired Professor at Tel Aviv University, along with co-recipients Dr. Zvi Reznic, Guy Dorman and Ron Yogev, has received the Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for "the development of the Amimon wireless chipset, which enables untethered, high-quality on-set, encrypted digital video monitoring with sub-frame latency." Amimon's technology is based on a unique MIMO implementation of joint source-channel coding for wireless video transmission.
Besides giving the well-known Oscar awards, the Academy also recognizes milestones in the development of technology for motion pictures with technical and scientific awards.
