An Ph.D studentship is available in the area of Information Theory at the National University of Singapore. Topics include (but are not limited to) second-order asymptotics, error exponent analysis, information-theoretic security and statistical inference. The Ph.D position is fully funded for up to 4 years.

Profile: An undergraduate or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics with a good academic record. A strong mathematical background is essential, especially in probability, inference and linear algebra. Some knowledge of optimization and/or information theory is desirable. Prior research experience in any of these areas would be a plus. 

The candidate will work closely with Dr. Vincent Tan.
