Purdue CSoI Strategic Relations and Funding Director
The Purdue Center for Science of Information (PCSoI) seeks a Strategic Relations and Funding Director. The successful candidate will work in support of faculty grant proposals and other research development efforts at PCSoI in areas of information science (specifically Big Data, Communications, and Life Science Computation). Assist in identifying, preparing, submitting, monitoring and managing grants from external sources. Focus on coordinating the funding activities of PCSoI and identifying potential revenue from external sources such as national and state governmental agencies as well as non-governmental agencies such as foundations, businesses, national labs and other organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Master's degree.
- Three years of work experience in a combination of planning, coordinating and leading faculty/staff research projects, interdisciplinary grant proposals and research development efforts.
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
- Experience with grant reporting and budget stewardship for research grants/projects.
- Detail oriented with the ability to produce top quality and accurate results; strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to provide faculty/staff members and various Grant Development Specialists with information on relevant funding opportunities.
- Ability to oversee the design, development, scheduling, and presentation of workshops on all aspects of grant development, writing and proposal submission.
- Ability to oversee various aspects of research communications and updates via available website, email and publication venues.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic atmosphere.
- Work independently to assist and interact effectively with faculty/staff members from a wide range of disciplines both internally and externally to the Center and Purdue.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to senior personnel from Industry and Government Organizations.
- Accustomed to to working in teams to meet objectives and work closely with students, Center Administrators, Purdue Administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally.
Preferred:
- Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Life Science or Biological Engineering.
- PhD.
- Experience in academic environment working with faculty/staff.
- Experience publishing academic research publications and articles.
- Experience developing and/or managing interdisciplinary research projects in the field of Information Science (Big Data, Communication, and Computational Science).
- Experience developing research projects with industry, research labs and government entities.
