Mobile Communications Department, EURECOM, France
The Mobile Communications Department of EURECOM, Sophia-Antipolis, France, invites applications for a faculty position at the assistant professor level (Maitre de Conference), in the general area of mobile networking, with a special interest for the emerging field of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). MEC (sometimes nicknamed “Fog” computing) revisits the fundamentals of wireless network design to provide cloud-computing like capabilities within the Radio Access Network, offering personalized services to users, better performance, and better experience by pushing data and its processing much closer to the end user (the edge of the network).
Concepts of interest within MEC include (but are not limited to)
• Content-centric communication and edge storage,
• network Function Virtualization and Software Defined Wireless Networking,
• device-based computation and communication (e.g. D2D: device to device),
• proximity network (e.g. proximity social networks, geo-fencing, ad-hoc networks)
• network and user analytics.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong combined background in wireless and networking and a proven experience in one or more of the above research areas. Experiment- and implementation-driven approaches are welcome. The successful candidate will teach (graduate only) courses and is expected to develop an externally funded research group. A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
EURECOM is an English language (including teaching), top European level graduate school and research center located in the heart of Europe’s leading high-tech park Sophia-Antipolis. The Department of Mobile Communications at EURECOM (
